If you walk into a Tattoo shop and see CARPET, RUN!!! Not only is that a health code violation, it’s incredibly unsanitary. I worked here and I will be 100% honest! Now that I own my own Studio, I just cannot fathom running a shop like Vanity. To be honest, I don’t know how she does it. The owner charged her apprentice $3,000-after months and months of “training” our apprentice didn’t even know what bigpin meant or even how to read needle size. She couldn’t be taught what was unknown to the Artists 😖 This shop has drop down ceiling tiles that are falling apart! The sinks are all caked with black slime/sludge as I was the only person who bleached and cleaned them. The Artists will also vacuum the carpet WHILE you are Tattooing a client. Just imagine what gets kicked up into the air and then lands on your open wound of a Tattoo(this building is a historical firehouse-ITS OLD). The individual rooms have hard wood, however, it’s laid over carpet 🙄 there are A LOT of corners cut with sanitation and health code requirements and regulations. Now…let’s talk about the work that comes from this shop(I will add pictures depicting what I am referring to). The owner creates a warm and welcoming environment, I will say that and I believe that’s why the shop gets repeat customers, and stays open. This is when she’s in a good headspace, to be specific. That’s definitely a positive, the environment. At least when I was there. The art tho…the Tattoos, ugh are subpar at best! They ALL HAVE the potential, especially a particular artist names Ted Rosato. With some practice and some confidence, Ted could be AMAZING! He is an incredible Artist! As a Tattoo Artist myself, if I had to go to Vanity, I would go to him! They need much much more practice though! They need current Industry standard education. Jo(owner)and George(Vanity Artist/Jo’s Friend)have been tattooing for almost 20yrs and it’s like they are stuck using the 1990’s tattooing industry standard. The Tattooing industry has changed, it has evolved, and we must evolve as artists in order to succeed.

Great atmosphere, Jo the owner seems like an absolute sweetheart and loves what she does. My artist Casey was great and her work completely exceeded my expectations. You can tell by watching her work that she is completely dialed in and strives for perfection. Looking forward to getting some more work done here, I couldn’t recommend this spot enough.

I called for an artist this morning. Went as a walk in. A few hours later I am left with the best tattoo ever!!! Casey in an awesome person. Thank you Casey and Joe are the best. A very “home’y” feeling. Lots of love and care.

My husband and I got our first tattoos yesterday with Jo. Absolutely awesome shop and we loved loved loved her. She was extremely knowledgeable, her shop was immaculate, and she was also so much fun to talk to. The tattoos we got are PERFECT. Exactly what we envisioned. I cannot rave enough and we are already super excited to go back and get another.
