Tiny Tats ATX Customer Reviews:
-Rescheduling, and lying about how much time time we would have together until I was literally in the chair day of.
-I was rescheduled to a very busy day, which is completely fine. When I started having an anxiety attack in the chair from the noise before we started, the artist proceeded to ask “what’s wrong with you?” I told her the noise was kind overwhelming, and asked if it was okay to turn the chair around so I could see the room. She looked at me annoyed, said “I guess, not like I just set this up.” She rolled her eyes at me and begrudgingly moved the chair.
-Before we started, I tried to ask questions about long term tattoo health. I asked about the differences in fine line vs traditional aging because I wanted a tattoo with less detail that could be touched up easier over the years. She didn’t even let me finish my question before saying “Tattoo is a tattoo, That doesn’t really matter.” I tried to articulate my long term worries and ask for advice in the design, only to be dismissed and told not to think about it.
-Artist put her design on my body, and we both agreed on it! Sometime in the session while I had my eyes closed breathing through the process, I noticed the tattoo gun staring to do things that *were not* in the drawing, **at all**. When I opened my eyes, I nearly jumped out of my skin. She had already proceeded to do lines and shading throughout the piece without any conversation or consent. When I spoke up and asked why we were putting something on me I didn’t agree to, she said “That’s just my style, do you want me to stop or something?” I should have asked her to stop. But man, I wish she would have cared how obviously uncomfortable I looked.
Every day I look at my tattoo, and it feels like I’m not important enough to pick what happens to my body. 🙁
I don’t mean to be a critical or cruel customer ever. I truly don’t. Tattooing is an incredibly hard and stressful craft, so I understand being a bit annoyed in a loud full shop. However, this place was so much worse than that.
My experience here was unprofessional, unkind, and with an artist who continually placed the importance of their artistic vision over giving me a choice for my own body. I cannot overstate how horrible and painful of a reminder this tattoo is. Its been almost two years with this tattoo, I hope so badly that one day I’ll be in a financial position to get it removed.
This was supposed to be a memorial tattoo. It takes up my entire forearm.
