Sacred Mandala Studio Customer Reviews:
Highly recommend this shop and this artist!!!!
We did a lot of research before getting these tattoos because we knew we wanted fine lines and that not every tattoo artist does them. Alessandra came as a recommendation from a close friend, and I’m so glad we asked because it worked out perfectly.
The studio itself was wonderful to be in because it was airy and sunny and spotless. Overall, a great experience from start to finish at a studio and with an artist we recommend to anyone we know who’s looking to get a new tattoo done.
first and foremost, because through words and actions Alessandra demonstrated that she truly and authentically cared about my well-being. She made me feel heard, made my vision feel valid and important, made me feel respected and comfortable. It was the most professional experience I’ve encountered in any industry in awhile.
I was getting a tattoo on very short notice (she was squeezing me into her packed schedule so that I could get a tattoo from a North Carolina artist before moving across the country). I had a rough idea in mind of the design I wanted, and we had a preliminary discussion over the phone. When I came in, to my delight, she had created several editions of my ideas in two different styles. I wanted hyper-realism, which Alessandra is truly amazing at (her portfolio speaks for itself). She showed me her artistic thoughts and clearly explained to me the obstacles in my initial design (I was trying to place a mishmash of different images on a pre-existing, very thick, black-and-white tattoo, and it would not have come out in the way I imagined). She showed me a sketch of a fine-line piece she had drafted in place of the hyper-realism, which would allow me to get the mishmash of ideas I was looking for. I liked all the options she was presenting me, but I wanted time to think about them. And this is where Alessandra was truly wonderful–she could have persuaded me to pick a design and just “go for it”. But she didn’t. She gave me time in the room to myself to think and look over the options. She verbally emphasized that it was really important to feel confident and entirely comfortable with my tattoo choice. She let me know that she didn’t want to be tattooing something that I wasn’t absolutely in love with—THAT is integrity, both as an artist and businessperson. She didn’t want to make a buck off me, she wanted to create art in line with her ethos that I would be ecstatic about. And I am a careful person that likes to think on decisions, so I ultimately decided to go home and reflect on my vision. Alessandra emailed me several drafts she had put together during our brainstorming session so I could continue pondering.
I write all this because as I got in my car to drive home, instead of feeling regret at not getting a tattoo that day, I felt relief that I didn’t make a rushed decision. I felt relief that Alessandra gave me space and advice. I felt relief that I could go home and tinker and figure out what I truly wanted, now having a sense of what was possible. I am so grateful to Alessandra for handling that scenario in the way she did. She represented the polar opposite of what people worry about when they schedule a tattoo. No matter if it’s your first tattoo or your 100th, I would recommend booking with Alessandra. Her work is amazing, you can see that yourself. What you can’t see in her portfolio is her professionalism and skill in communicating ideas, and that’s what I want to emphasize here. I won’t be in NC for awhile, but when I do return, I will absolutely be looking to book with Alessandra. Thank you, Alessandra, and thank you, Sacred Mandala Studio, for such a positive experience.
