Darren is incredible! He helped me bring my vision of a phoenix to my forearm. Darren thought out the design, collaborated with me, and sketched out in advance by hand. He’s so talented, thoughtful, and knowledgeable about Japanese tattoos and tattoos in general. He was very friendly and professional the whole time.
I’d highly recommend Darren to anyone looking for a beautiful piece of art, as well as the other artists at the studio who have their own specialties.

This is the second time I’ve had a tattoo done at Rising Dragon (the first was well over a decade ago), and this new experience was (as the first one was) absolutely first-rate. My tattooist, Darren, and I went back and forth about the design, and he truly listened to my ideas, presented ideas of his own, and what we ended up with was not really like what I’d initially had in mind—but, truly, so much better. (I think that listening to the artist/expert is always a good idea.)
The tattoo was done in two sessions and couldn’t have been a more genial experience. And I couldn’t be happier with the result.

I have been to rising dragon tattoo for years. They have done most of my tatts. All the large work. They are professional and relaxed and fair. Darren has been my artist twice now and I am in love with the experience he offers as well as his work. He listens to what I want and is a perfect sounding board for ideas and suggestions. He’s got an amazing sense of space and balance and his artistic aesthetic is superb. Highly suggest this place to anyone who wants tattoo art and wants work that is quality and extraordinary.

Last weekend I got my first tattoo ever done with Chris. After showing him my inspiration photo, he sketched out a bunch of different variations for me to choose one. Even though I was really nervous, Chris and another artist there helped me calm my nerves (showed me the tattoo gun, joked with me) before my tattoo. I felt really comfortable the whole time during my appointment, the studio itself is super clean and sterile, and the artists are really nice!! Can’t wait to go back 🙂
