Many times I use reviews, reading the best and the worst, to decide to work with a company/person. I saw many reviews about scheduling issues, and though we had some, the artist jumped in quickly to rectify it, so still giving them a 5*. Crap happens, but how they handle it makes a HUGE difference. Now onto the tattoos. My daughter and I have been trying to get mother/daughter tattoo’s for 2 years. Struggling with finding an artist for us AND we live on opposite coasts. We started planning for 2 months in advance with the shop. The first artist said she wasn’t taking new clients and referred us to Nic Dimas. Man O Man freaking AMAZING referral for us, and here is why.

1) First he was the artist that made the shops scheduling snafu all good. Fit us in and worked with us on short notice.
2) He came prepared….for this business woman mama…THANK YOU!!! We asked for input to our artwork we submitted. He came with design ideas for both of us and made a few minimal changes for us.
3) The array of talent he came to the chair with was phenomenal. My daughter and I have very different tastes. She is all red line art, and she branched out into red shading with his suggestion. I am hyperrealism.
4) Listening him talk about life, as we were chatty, we love his work ethic and his love for his client’s happiness, not just his opinion. Good for you Nic!
5) Knowing I was flying out first thing in the morning, he stayed late to make sure we were BOTH finished.

Overall what a great experience and talent. I plan on booking with Nic when I come back to town for my additions. Thank you for making our week the best.

Absolutely cannot go wrong at this shop. Every artist is highly skilled and professional. My first experience (last summer) was matching friendship mandala tattoos, so we chose Kat because of her incredible black and gray ornamental work. They turned out PERFECT! (And I’m going back for more with her next month.) My second piece here was a memorial for my father and I wanted a unique, bold warrior princess inspired piece. I approached Harlan and got onto his waitlist and he absolutely SLAYED it last month. I’ve watched everyone work while I’m in the chair and there’s not one artist here that I wouldn’t recommend. You have to go see for yourself!

I am over the moon for my pinup witch from Allisin. I gave her just a few details and she created something I’m going to love for the rest of my life.

It was the longest I’ve ever sat for a tattoo. Close to 7 hrs. But she made it comfortable and fun. She had a three-tiered tray I could put my snacks, water and items of distraction on. Which I really appreciated because at other shops I’ve ended up just having to put it on the floor or a nearby chair and it’s really difficult to access when their tattooing. She introduced me to holy water lidocaine spray, which I’m going to remember for pain management in the future. She is professional, personable, supportive and amazingly talented. She even answered a few of my questions about the art/skill of tattooing. I love learning new things.

The shop was exceedingly clean, really cool with all the artwork, and everyone from the admin staff to the other artists were professional, personable and welcoming. It’s an open space where the tattoo artists work. Meaning they each have a station but there are no walls between stations. So dress appropriately. Even with no walls between stations it was very quiet. I’d also say bring a jacket if you tend to run cold, like I do.

For those interested in the scheduling process. I emailed her directly to see if she would be open to taking my tattoo and to confirm she had previously worked on people of color. Which I was delighted to find she had. We exchanged a few emails discussing what I wanted, when her books would open for scheduling and pricing. She was flexible, letting me schedule for much later in the year so I could work my healing around my training and performance schedule.

I want to note that I drove 2 hrs one way for this tattoo and it was worth every single minute.

I would NOT recommend this shop for anything that’s going to take more than one or two sessions. I have been ignored all year when the shop still had my deposit for a sleeve I started with Allisin, Colton, and Kasey “Gonzo” back in 2019. I had previously gotten work done by Allisin and Colton and I loved the idea of my three favorite artist coming together and making a collab full sleeve for me. During our consult, we had the ideas of changing seasons with harsh cuts between styles (so a harsh cut between black and gray to neotrad then to new school etc) and we talked about including animals going towards a Mother Nature like statue. When it came time for my first appointment, Allisin was the only artist that came prepared with her drawing. The three of them spent 3 hours drawing and gathering reference photos and putting the design together and then another 3 hours tattooing me. They then charged me for 6 hours of tattooing since they came unprepared. Not to mention the design they came up with was NOT what we discussed in the consult. But I trusted these artists and gave them full creative freedom on my arm. Due to COVID lockdown, I didn’t really get a lot of work done in 2020 and 2021 but I still did get some work done. Now, they have proceeded to ignore all my appointment requests, emails, and phone calls trying to get work done and finish the sleeve. Allisin finally responds and put the blame on me for them not finishing the tattoo. I luckily got my deposit back, but I’ve been left with a half finished sleeve that I have to find an artist/artists to finish it. This will be really difficult considering the different styles of design that are already on my arm. It’s just shocking that I’ve been working with these artists even before they opened Athens and this is how I’m being treated. Tread lightly with this shop, it’s a shame that such good art is grossly overshadowed with how poorly they treat their clients.

The process of making an appointment was super easy & Athens got back to me within 2 weeks.
The whole process of the tattoo was very profesional & clean.
