Inkaholicz Customer Reviews:
Three of us made appointments to get work done by Shawn (who does amazing work) but when we got there we were pawned off on another artist.
This guy worked hard, I’ll give him that. But the work he did was terrible. I got 4 tattoos total, my son got 2, and my daughter got a forearm tattoo.
The line work is awful. AWFUL. And the guy knew it. He quit the next day because he knew he’d messed up.
We talked to Shawn a couple weeks later when it was apparent that this work was not going to look better healed. He stated that he would work with us to fix it.
We waited until we had extra money to tip him for touch ups, etc. We made an appointment, explained what we needed done, and sent pictures.
He refused to do the touch ups for free. I have never had a shop that charged for touch ups. When we told him never mind (if I’m going to pay, I’m going to a different shop) he called us back and again tried to pawn us off on another artist, stating he was too busy to do them personally. I asked how long the artist has worked for him and he caught attitude. He refused to answer my question and said he was ‘just trying to help us out, he’s too busy to do it but this other guy has nothing to do.’ There’s probably a reason.
I want to add that even tho the original artist screwed up royally, I still tipped him $150, which honestly I shouldn’t have.
Bottom line, if you go here, insist on having Shawn do the work. If anyone else does it, he will not stand behind them and he will charge you for any fixes.
Update since the shop responded:
Original tattoos were done Feb 24. Shawn was contacted on March 8th, letting him know we were not happy. We had to let the tattoos heal and we needed time to save money for the tip as well as finding a time we could all come together. Today’s date is July 15th. That is less than 5 months, not 7. Shawn refused to fix our tattoos for free, he wanted $40 per tattoo for touch ups. We declined. He called back and offered another artist that was unknown and unproven to us. He refused to tell us how long the artist had worked for him, but he did say this artist would fix our tattoos for free. I didn’t want to chance making the tattoos worse by using another unknown artist that Shawn would likely not stand behind either.
